In Summer 2022, the University of Michigan’s Institute for the Humanities will host Humanities Without Wall’s annual summer workshop for doctoral students interested in learning about diverse careers for humanists. Through a series of workshops, talks, and site visits, participants will learn how to imagine possible futures and leverage their skills and humanities training toward careers in the private sector, the nonprofit world, arts administration, public media, and many other fields.

You are invited to join the Interdisciplinary Humanities Center's new research focus group: "What is a Shakespeare: Shakespeare and Global Media." This interdisciplinary group of graduate students and faculty is focused on investigating the notion of ‘global Shakespeare.’ The group is holding two introductory meetings on October 5th at 4pm and October 7th at 11am. Join Jay Stemmle, Student Academic Specialist with Campus Learning Assistance Services (CLAS), for a special time management workshop tailored for grad students on October 8th. This workshop will open space for graduate students to compare notes about how they handle the challenges of long-range planning, day-to-day-workflow, and the coordination of the two. Participants will also do exercises to help them construct, troubleshoot, and enhance their approach to time.
