The Graduate Simulation Seminar Series (GS^3) is back for summer 2022! GS^3 offers an in-person 10-week seminar program featuring talks from a diverse set of graduate students and/or postdocs who use simulation in their research, representing a wide swath of academic disciplines across UCSB. Seminars will be held on Wednesdays from 2-3p this summer, beginning July 13 and going through September 14. Read on for more info!

Next Thursday and Friday, May 19 and 20, the Bren Environmental Justice Club will be hosting its 4th Annual Environmental Justice Symposium. This hybrid event will explore topics ranging from the roots of environmental harm to advice for environmental justice careers. This event brings together interdisciplinary scholars, activists, and thought-leaders to envision the future of environmental justice. Read on for more information!

Virginia Tech has launched a new Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowship program that will prepare postdocs for the next step in their careers, providing a two-year appointment with nationally competitive salaries and benefits. There are three proposal review cycles in 2022, with proposals due for review May 15, July 15, and Nov. 15. Read on for more info!

The UCSB Research Mentorship Program (RMP) is seeking graduate students, postdocs, and researchers for a paid mentorship opportunity this summer. The RMP will be delivered in person in Summer Session A (June 20 – July 29, 2022), and mentors will receive $1,050 per project per student (up to $4,200). Join the Graduate Mental Health Peers on May 17 from 2-3pm for the next event in their Graduate Series "Finding Meaning and Harmony in the Journey": "Who Am I When I Am Not a Graduate Student: Identifying Your Values & Incorporating Self-Care." This virtual workshop will explore the different identities graduate students carry.
